Hermes Taiwan 2015 A/W Window Display

Reflecting the spirit of “Flanerie”, the annual theme for Hermes 2015, our window display invites viewers to take a stroll and discover unplanned nature in streets of Taiwanese cities. Inspired from charming and unique sceneries of local cityscape such as trees growing out of pipes or abundant vegetation growing on walls, we chose PVC pipes and vegetation as main components for our window display.
Colors of pipes are in different shades of Turquin Blue, Ochre Yellow, Indigo and Capucine Orange – Which are inspired from Hermes 2015 A/W collection. Pipe diameters vary from 1, 2, 4, 6 to 8 inches. PVC pipes are treated as self-defining elements, not an asset of a building, acting as space generator and sculptural element framing the products simultaneously. Complexity of window composition varies, and each pipe size responds to the degree of complexity on the windows. Simple street-like composition is composed of larger pipes; sculptural composition of thinner pipes; and intricate compositions for small windows of 1’ pipes. We chose to exaggerate the intensity and pipe sizes in order to clearly contrast the exquisite sensitivity of the Hermes products against the background. Pipes are laid out in 3D layering to create a sense of depth.
Our design concept revolves around the spectacle of co-existence of nature and man-made infrastructure in Taiwanese cities.
