Hirakawacho Building

東京都心部の角地に計画された小さな集合住宅。斜線制限いっぱいに立ち上げた建物ボリュームに、4つの住戸と店舗が入る。周囲の喧騒を遮断するための堅牢なコンクリート壁を、水平方向をスプーンで無数にすくい取ったような曲面で再構成している。
本来内部にでてきてしまう梁型を外側に押し出し、波打つ曲面の中に包含することで、限られた内部空間を最大化するだけでなく、壁と梁という分化された要素を一体的に取り扱い、その凹凸がポジティブな要素としてファサードに表出することを意図した。このうねった壁面にはランダムな大きさの開口が穿たれ、意図的に建物のスケール感が失われるようにしており、小さい建物ながらも周囲に埋没しない、街角のランドマークになることを目指している。最上部のメゾネットにはクライアントの住戸が入る。コンクリートの荒い質感の外観と対照的に、内部はクライアントのコレクションである若手アーティストの作品を展示するため、ミニマルな空間になっている。

The topmost maisonette contains the client’s dwelling units. In contrast to the rough texture of the concrete, the interior is minimal space for decorating the work of a young artist who is a collection of clients.
